Yogis in Service 200-Hour Community Yoga Teacher Training (YISTT)
Yogis in Service Community Yoga Teacher Training (YISTT) is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Certification Program. The YISTT program is aligned with the YIS mission to create access to yoga and connection. The YISTT program is unique in that it was developed in partnership with a research team at the University at Buffalo to provide effective training in trauma-informed, inclusive yoga. The YISTT follows the YIS Trama Informed Yoga framework.
Program Content
Thank you for your interest in the YISTT 200-hour community yoga teacher training. This program includes trauma-informed methodology for teaching yoga, as well as yoga philosophy, anatomy, teaching yoga asana and sequences, meditation, service yoga, and exploration of your own yoga practice and mindful self-care. The faculty are specialists in their fields and come from a range of yoga traditions. Training sessions will be in-person in Buffalo, NY.
Format
The next YISTT program will be delivered meeting one weekend each month for 10 months from January to October 2023 (with the exception of August). Sessions will be held Fridays 6-9 PM, Saturdays 10 AM-7 PM, and Sundays 11 AM- 5 PM. The program will meet the following weekends:
Session 1: January 27, 28, 29 Session 2: February 24, 25, 26
Session 3: March 24, 25, 26 Session 4: April 28, 29, 30
Session 5: May 12, 13, 14 Session 6: June 16, 17, 18
Session 7: July 14, 15, 16 No August Dates
Session 8: September 22, 23, 24 Session 9: October 20, 21, 22

Cost of Program
Tuition is $3,200 with a 10% discount for educators, veterans, and mental health professionals. Please indicate your interest in this discount on you application. Tuition dollars go directly to YIS programs and YISTT scholarships, as YIS is not-for-profit. A limited number of scholarships will be available for BIPOC individuals. If you are interested in being considered for a scholarship, please include a statement with your application that describes how you will utilize the YISTT to support your community and/or your personal goals going forward.
